Carla Peicheff

Hi, I’m Carla! I have my own small business, “Carla’s Creations” and have been sewing for 6+ years. I enjoy patchwork, EPP (English Paper Piecing) quilting, etc... the only thing I honestly don’t sew is clothing. Perhaps one day though & I sure admire those who do!
I’m currently on the design team for OLFA and write & sell most of my own patterns. I enjoy photography, reading, sewing, and being outside in the sunshine! You can find me online at:
Thanks so much for taking my class, I’m so excited to meet you!!
Linda McLaren, the Quilting Biker:

Linda grew up on a farm in rural southwestern Ontario.  She and her husband continued the farming tradition of both of their families, while also both working off-farm and raising their family.   She found a very happy place in her work world, at a credit union as their Information Technology Manager.  Also a certified Adult Trainer & Teacher, she enjoyed training her “clients” – the credit union staff.

Linda and her husband started “practicing for retirement” in 2004, when they took their first motorcycle road trip.  They have thoroughly enjoyed exploring the back roads and twisties across North America.  Yes, Linda drives her own Goldwing.  Their last big trip was to a GoldWing rally in Billings Montana, via Edmonton AB.

Linda has been quilting since her littles were little, and took up longarming more than 10 years ago to be able to finish her growing pile of flimsies.  Joining the Chatham Kent Quilters Guild in the early 2000’s, she found the joys of a quilting family – workshops and the monthly fellowship at meetings.  Volunteering on the Guild Executive (website and newsletter) and Quilt Show committee, valuable experience was gained from quilters who get stuff done.

She joined the London Modern Quilt Guild in 2013 when she moved to the London area, and a whole new world of quilting opened up for her!  Loving the modern quilting ethos, she has created another large stack of flimsies, and plenty of completed quilts too.  She enjoyed both providing and participating in workshops with the LMQG.  She delights in seeing Show & Share quilts that were sparked by one of her workshops.

Her first submission to a juried quilt show did not make the cut for QuiltCon 2019 but was juried into Quilt Canada 2019. Seeing her quilt, “Windswept Sparks” hanging with the magnificent quilts at Quilt Canada was an amazing experience.

Launching her business of quilting for others in 2017, “The Quilting Biker, she has been honoured with finishing quilts for clients.  Linda is humbled and also proud to be have local quilt shop owners recommending her longarming services to their customers.

Linda is an avid life-long learner.  In 2018, she travelled to Utah for a workshop for a deep dive into the robotics on her new Bernina longarm.  In the spring of 2019, she accomplished one of her bucket list goals – a longarm ruler work boot camp in Michigan City with the amazing Jamie Wallen.  She will tell you that it’s always a great day when you learn something new.

Linda blogs about her quilting and biking life at QuiltingBiker.blogspot.com.
